NEWSLETTER - February 23, 2005
VOYAGE OF THE GRAY WOLVES is in bookstores and at the usual online sources as
well. I want to thank Michael DiMercurio, David E. Meadows, Tom “Bear” Wilson,
Chet Cunningham, and Joe Buff for their gracious comments about the novel.
I have been invited to be a guest columnist at
Military.Com and have so far published
one article with them. Take a look at my
Military.Com Essays Page
BETWEEN THE HUNTERS AND THE HUNTED, featuring Lt. Jordan Cole, Captain Hardy,
and the fragile little HMS Firedancer is in my editor’s hands. This is an
entirely different view of war at sea than VOYAGE, and takes place in the early
days of the conflict. As I have an opportunity, I’ll include segments in
upcoming issues of my newsletter. A third novel is already in the works. When I
say in the works I mean I’ve been doing a great deal of research (just as much
fun as the writing for me), and creating what I call chapter treatments. Below
are some web sites that I found of interest, and a great deal of help, in
researching the third book.
I’ve set up book signings at Barnes & Nobles in Knoxville, Tennessee (February
6, 2005), Columbus, Ohio (February 15, 2005), and Lexington, Kentucky (March
13, 2005). If any of my readers have a chance to come by, I’d love to meet
them. As more book signings are scheduled I’ll post them on my newsletter.
All Quotes for VOYAGE OF THE GRAY WOLVES by Steven Wilson
"A stunning page-turner that grabs the reader and never lets go!"
"A slam-bang confrontation on the high seas. A great read!"
"Steven Wilson takes us on a taut, suspenseful, engaging and frightening saltwater thriller to the secret, dangerous undersea horrors of WWII submarining, where his war machines are as deeply soulful -- and as realistically lethal -- as his combat-weary yet inspired characters. No submarine fiction fan's bookcase is complete without Wilson's Voyage of the Grey Wolves. Bravo zulu and good hunting, Steven."
“Wow! What great page-turning action and captivating characters. Wilson will keep you enthralled and on the edge of your seat.”

THE VOYAGE OF THE GRAY WOLVES
1944: The Allies have landed in Europe, driving the Germans back in a relentless march towards Berlin. In the Nazi Command, there are those who foresee the demise of the Third Reich.
But there are others who will do anything for the sake of victory…
U-Boat Captain Guenter Kern is one of the most respected and feared commanders in the Kreigsmarine. His loyalty to his officers and crew are legendary, as is his skill as an underwater predator of enemy vessels. But even he knows that the tides have turned against Germany—until he is ordered to take a prototype new submarine on a desperate mission to the shores of England. It is a mission that could save his homeland from utter defeat—and unleash a nightmare unlike anything in the annals of war.
The fate of the Allies rests in the hands of eccentric British Navy Captain George Hardy. Regarded as a madman by some, and viewed as a genius in naval warfare by those who serve with him, Hardy leads his ragtag fleet of warships into a deadly match of wits and wills against the determined Kern and his untested U-boats. Under cover of the ocean, the deadliest of enemies are about to engage their final battle….
